Our thoughts go out to all affected by the explosions in Boston.
The Cleveland Division of Police, through the Northeast Ohio Regional Fusion Center, is in direct contact with the Ohio Department of Homeland Security. The Division and the Fusion Center remain in close contact with law enforcement entities along the Eastern seaboard. At this time there are NO credible threats to our area.
However, in light of the tragic incident in Boston today, the Cleveland Division of Police, along with our law enforcement partners including the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority Police Department and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office, will coordinate deployment in response to this incident. Cleveland Police will have increased patrols in the downtown area this evening. Our canine unit is currently deployed and our Bomb Squad is on stand-by.
