Plan to be Prepared

This morning, the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, and the Cleveland Indians participated in a full-scale emergency response exercise at Progressive Field. The event simulated an attack during a mock baseball game at the ballpark. The event was conducted as a result of months of planning between various departments, groups, and agencies.

Participating at the exercise was The City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management, Cleveland Emergency Management Agency, Cleveland Police Department, Cleveland Fire Department, Cleveland SWAT, Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Ohio National Guard, and the Cleveland Indians/Progressive Field.

While the City of Cleveland is dedicated to consistently exercising, developing, and revising emergency operations plans, it is important for you to focus on your own personal safety and preparedness. Personal preparedness is a subject seldom discussed and thought about until it is needed. Take some time to discuss with your family, friends, and loved ones what you would do in a real life emergency. There are plenty of materials available online to assist you with creating an emergency plan.
