CLEVELAND – Effective Thursday, May 23, 2013 and weather permitting, the intersection at W. 85th Street and Madison Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic to allow for road repairs. The northbound traffic will be detoured west on Madison Avenue, north on W. 77th Street, and west on Franklin Blvd. The southbound traffic will be detoured west on Detroit Avenue, south on West Blvd., and east on Madison Avenue. All access for businesses, residents, schools, fire station and side streets will be maintained. The northbound traffic detour will remain in place until June 3rd, 2013.
WE URGE YOU TO USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONES.
The Madison Avenue Rehabilitation project began in February 2013 and will replace roadway pavement, curb, sidewalk, ADA ramps, substandard drainage structures, and upgrade traffic signals and signage from West Boulevard to W. 65th Street. The $3.8 million project is funded by the Ohio Public Works Commission Issue 1 funds and City General Obligation Bonds.
One-way eastbound traffic is being maintained along Madison Avenue during the project, with the exception of this temporary closure at W. 85th Street.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this important public improvement project.
