St. Ignatius High School Dedicates Memorial Honoring Fallen Patrol Officer Wayne Leon

“In Honor of all Safety Forces members of the Saint Ignatius High School community who have dedicated their lives to serve others.”

On Wednesday, October 16, 2013, St. Ignatius High School dedicated a tree and a marble monument honoring the memory of fallen Cleveland Patrol Officer Wayne Leon, a 1986 graduate of St. Ignatius High School.  Director of Annual Fund and Alumni Relations, Dan Malone and Principal of Saint Ignatius High School, Dan Bradesca led members of the community in a dedication ceremony.  Morning mass, dedicated to Wayne, was held at the campus chapel.

On Sunday, June 25, 2000, Officer Wayne Leon agreed to work a one-man car to assist A-Platoon due to a lack of manpower. Officer Leon figured this would get him home early in the afternoon, and he could spend the remainder of the day with his family as he often did.
