The weather forecast didn’t disappoint! City of Cleveland snow crews are battling the snow and high winds this morning on the roads and our properties crews are working to clear snow at police districts and recreation centers.
Blowing and drifting snow can make travel dangerous, so we encourage everyone to stay off the roads as much as possible and limit travel. Use the extra time indoors to check how prepared you are for emergencies by visiting ready.gov. And, with below zero temperatures in the forecast for next week, check out Cleveland Water’s tips to be prepared for the winter weather that’s yet to come.
If you must go outdoors, take proper precautions to stay safe. Click here for a list of cold weather tips.
Roads: Currently, 42 crews are continuing to work the main streets, fighting the blowing and drifting snow.
The City of Cleveland encourages residents to:
- Park off-street whenever possible to give snow plows the ability to plow streets curb-to-curb.
- Stay off the streets as much as possible for their own personal safety and to allow snow plows greater access to the city’s roadways.
- If you must travel, use caution, allow extra time, and remember not to “block the box” at intersections.
- Pay attention to local news for weather advisories and visit http://www.city.cleveland.oh.us/ and clecityhall.com for up-to-date information from the City of Cleveland.
Updates will be available as the forecasted snow event progresses.
