Healthy Meals for all Youth Ages 5-18
The City of Cleveland Division of Recreation announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program for Children. Free meals will be made available Monday – Friday to all children 18 years of age and under or persons over 18 who are determined by the state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled.
The meals will be provided without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
The program begins this week and will continue Monday through Friday at all twenty-one City of Cleveland recreation centers, all Cleveland Public Library branches and other partnering locations throughout the City of Cleveland.
“School meals are the primary source of nutrition for many of our children and there is a void when school recesses for the summer,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson.
“This program fills the void by offering children and teens easy access to meals in more than 80 locations throughout the City.”
