The Division of Police would like to remind fans that are planning to use the Municipal Parking Lot for this Thursday, August 28, 2014 Browns home game that the lot does not open for tailgating until 12:00pm. At 12:00pm, only the eastern portion of the lot will open for tailgating. At 5:30pm, the entire lot will open for tailgating. No large vehicles (motorhomes, RVs, buses, etc.) will be allowed in the mentioned lots before their respective times.
Security Officers will be assigned to the lot to ensure that no vehicles attempt to enter the lot prior to the designated times. The public is reminded that it is important to obey traffic laws and that no vehicles are permitted to park or stop on busy roadways. Cleveland Police Officers will be on scene before and during the opening of the Muni lot to ensure that parking and vehicular traffic laws are adhered to.
Municipal Parking Lot Tailgating Rules and Regulations:
The following is the full list of rules and restrictions for tailgating activities in the Muni lot for all Cleveland Browns home games. The list of rules and regulations will be distributed to all vehicles upon entering the lot as well as posted on various signs throughout the lot.
1. No open pit fires
2. Propane grills only (No charcoal)
3. No alcohol
4. Saving spaces prohibited
5. You will be charged for all parking spaces that you occupy
6. No in & out privileges
7. All liter must be dispensed in trash containers
8. Vandalism of any type will not be tolerated
9. Crossing the shoreway is prohibited
10. No private latrines
Violation of the Muni lot rules and regulations may result in fines and ejection from the premises. Additionally, below are answers to other common questions and information regarding tailgating in the Muni lot:
•Lot Operation and Fees – The lot opens promptly at 7:00 am for all regular and pre-season season weekend home games. Vehicles are not permitted to enter the premises before that time. The fee to park in the municipal lot is $20 dollars. You will be charged for all spaces that you occupy. Cleveland Police will not permit vehicles to line-up or stage on the Shoreway before game time.
•Alcohol and Safety – Open containers, consumption of alcohol and public intoxication are all prohibited in the Muni Lot. If you plan to consume alcohol during any sporting event always ensure you have a designated driver. Please exercise caution at all times and if you see something, please say something.
•Sanitation – There will be 50 portable restrooms, 75 trash cans and 3 dumpsters in the Muni lot during all regular season games. Private latrines are strictly prohibited. Please make sure all trash is disposed of properly before you leave any lot.
•Parking – Parking restrictions are put in place in downtown Cleveland for each Browns home football game – typically for three hours before each game and until two hours after the game’s completion. Look for bright neon signs attached to posts, poles and parking meters in those areas affected by the restrictions. Violators will be ticketed and towed if parked in violation. All associated fines and fees to have an automobile released must be done at the One Stop Vehicle Impound Center located at 3040 Quigley Road.
