Today, Mayor Jackson presented Bob Grace, Chairman and President of the Browns Backers Central, with a proclamation declaring October 10 – 12, 2014 as Brown and Orange Weekend in the City of Cleveland.

Whereas, on behalf of the citizens of the City of Cleveland, I am honored to offer this Proclamation designating the week of October 10, 2014 through October 12, 2014 as “Brown and Orange” Weekend in the City of Cleveland; and,
Whereas, “Brown and Orange” Weekend is a way for Clevelanders to show support for the Cleveland Browns as they gear up to play their longtime rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at FirstEnergy Stadium; and,
Whereas, the Browns vs. Steelers is one of the oldest and greatest rivalries in the NFL; and,
Whereas, the Browns vs. Steelers rivalry is a Cleveland tradition celebrated by both new and longtime fans of the Cleveland Browns.
Now therefore, I, Frank G. Jackson, the 56th Mayor of the City of Cleveland, do hereby offer this Proclamation designating the weekend of October 10, through October 12, 2014 as “Brown and Orange” Weekend in Cleveland. I urge all citizens to take this opportunity to demonstrate their pride and support for our Cleveland Browns.
