City of Cleveland Commemorates Black History Month by Recognizing the Past and Honoring Future Leaders

The City of Cleveland’s 2015 Black History Month celebration has began and this year’s theme “Cleveland’s Future: We are in Good Hands,” was chosen to highlight, share and learn about the many endeavors, accomplishments and future plans of our African American community. The month of activities will focus on media, sports, arts & entertainment, as well as education and health.

Following is the calendar of events.

  • Friday, February 6th A Salute To Sports 12:00 p.m. City Hall Rotunda
  • Saturday, February 7th Flag Raising 11:00 a.m. City Hall Rotunda
  • Wednesday, February 11th Salute to Arts & Entertainment 12:00 p.m. City Hall Rotunda
  • Wednesday, February 18th Salute to Media 12:00 p.m. NewBridge
  • Friday, February 20th Salute to Food/Culinary Arts 12:00 p.m. City Hall Rotunda
  • Wednesday, February 25th Salute to Education 12:00 p.m. City Hall Rotunda
  • Thursday, February 26th Salute to Health 12:00 p.m. City Hall Rotunda

All events are free and open to the public. For more information on the month’s activities, please contact the City of Cleveland Community Relations Board at 216-664-3290.
