Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Police Chief Calvin D. Williams addressed members of the media following the Grand Jury decision in the Tamir Rice case to explain the next steps in the city’s administrative review.
“Now that the criminal portion of this incident has concluded, the city will begin an administrative review to determine if policies and procedures were violated,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. “We will conduct this review in an honest and transparent way with due process at its core – not just process.”
Police Chief Calvin D. Williams provided further details on how that administrative review will operate: “The Critical Incident Review Committee will immediately convene to begin gathering and analyzing all the evidence, facts, and conclusions from the use of force incident. “The committee will conduct the review in a timely manner and forward the results to my office for possible disciplinary action.”
