Republican National Convention 2016

 CLEVELAND – Today, Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Police Chief Calvin D. Williams provided the media with an overview of actions that transpired in the event zone as it relates to the Republican National Convention.

A brief summary is provided here:

  1. The City of Cleveland is ready to welcome guests – downtown is open for business.
  2. Transportation and travel will remain impacted all week. Plan ahead, use public transportation, give yourself extra time to get around and be patient. Follow the blog (www.clecityhall.com) for all traffic impacts.
  3. At the time of the 10 a.m. briefing, Chief Williams stated that first amendment rights have been respectfully and lawfully demonstrated all weekend. There have been no arrests at this time.

There is no 7 p.m. briefing today.

The next media briefing will be July 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. Security questions will be addressed at this briefing.
