Members of the public are reminded that parking restrictions will occur over the course of weekend days in the Warehouse District and in the Flats East Bank. Signage will be posted during daytime hours and the parking ban will be in effect on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 8 p.m. through 4 a.m. Any vehicles parked in violation during these times will be cited and towed.
Restrictions will occur on these roadways:
- Old River Road from Main Avenue to St. Clair Avenue
- West 10th Street from Main Avenue to St. Clair Avenue
- West 9th Street from Front Street to Superior Avenue
- West 6th Street from Lakeside Avenue to Superior Avenue
- West 3rd Street from Lakeside Avenue to Superior Avenue
- Saint Clair Avenue from West 9th Street to West 3rd Street
- Lakeside Avenue from West 6th Street to West 3rd Street
Streets within the entertainment districts become very crowded during weekend evenings. Vehicles parked along the curb lane contribute to overcrowding and adversely affect the flow of traffic. In addition, overcrowded roadways make emergency vehicle transit (Police, Fire, EMS) very difficult, compromising the ability of first responders to respond to emergency situations.
Members of the public are reminded to check for signage upon parking vehicles on streets in these areas prior to the hours in which the ban is in effect. Parking lots within the entertainment districts and throughout downtown are available for paid parking. Public transportation is readily available through the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. Check http://www.riderta.com/ for schedules and routes.
If a vehicle was towed, drivers may contact the Cleveland Police Impound Unit at (216) 623-5060. If a vehicle has been towed, drivers must go to the walk-in Customer Service Center located at the City of Cleveland Vehicle Impound & Clerk of Courts Payment Center 3040 Quigley Road. The following items are necessary for vehicle retrieval: proof of current registration, photo identification and all overdue parking tickets must be paid in full.
