City Kennel Lowers Adoption Fees For Dogs This Weekend Only: Nov. 10–12

The City of Cleveland’s Division of Animal Care & Control currently has 99 CITY DOGS up for adoption and is asking for help finding them homes. The normal $61 fee will be reduced to just $40 this weekend only – Nov. 10 – 12.

Every adoptable dog is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and comes with a county license. Normal adoption processes and policies will be followed during the reduced fee event.

In the video below, posted to Facebook, Michelle Harvanek, Adoption/Volunteer Coordinator and volunteer Kayla, who previously adopted a dog, encourage viewers to adopt a CITY DOG and introduce some playful dogs.

“We have many awesome CITY DOGS waiting for loving homes. There is a match for every family looking to adopt and our Adoption Counselors are happy to help find the right fit,” Harvanek said. “We are really hoping to find homes for many of them this weekend. While we make every effort to find a positive outcome for every happy, healthy dog that enters our building, it is increasingly difficult to provide for 99 dogs and make sure all of their needs are met.”

The kennel will also be open extended hours on Sunday for this weekend only. In addition to the regular 10 a.m.-3 p.m. hours on Friday and Saturday, the kennel will open at 10 a.m. on Sunday instead of its usual noon open time.

Adoptable CITY DOGS can be viewed at or at the kennel, located at 2690 W. 7th St. Regular open hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday noon-2 p.m. Walk-in adoptions are accepted, but appointments are encouraged. Make an appointment to meet with an Adoption Counselor by emailing or by calling the adoption hotline at 216-664-3476.
