As the city moves into spring, we encourage residents to help us keep the City of Cleveland beautiful, healthy and clean by reporting nuisance properties and illegal dumping.
The objective of the city’s vacant properties lot cutting and cleaning program is to eliminate health and safety hazards in vacant lots and the exteriors of vacant structures within the city. Its activities include cutting weeds and removing debris from vacant lots.
Owners who abandon their property will be charged for maintenance services and a fine will be incurred. If the owner does not pay their service invoice, a lien will be placed on the property. Properties are cleaned and cut every 6-7 weeks from April to September.
Here is some important info to know about the lot cutting and cleaning program:
- Our program is systematic and all vacant properties with high grass and weeds will be cut during the growing season. If you have a question on when a particular property will be serviced, please call 420-8300 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m..
- If you observe illegal dumping while it is happening please call 9-1-1 and report it immediately. If you find an area where illegal dumping has occurred already, call 664-DUMP (3867) and report it.
Please help keep Cleveland clean by reporting illegal dumping.
