Safe Smart CLE is a new initiative introduced by Mayor Frank G. Jackson in April 2018 that combines cost-saving and energy-efficient LED streetlights with smart camera technology to make the City of Cleveland’s neighborhoods safer and more sustainable. The LED technology will be powered by Cleveland Public Power (CPP) and includes features like remote control to brighten or dim lights and alerts to CPP when there is a malfunction.
Phase one will allow for the installation of cameras that will help the Cleveland Division of Police to better monitor neighborhoods. The plan is to install the cameras near the city’s 22 recreation centers and, in wards where there are no recreation centers, in crime hotspots and main streets and intersections.

Thank Mayor your the best..Go Cavs and clev Indians .Clev is a wonderful city if u get the people out that destroy our beautiful city. Thanks again
I hope these are warm lights (yellow/red color, not bright white). Bright white lights disrupt people’s sleep patterns (as well as insects and animals), causing stress and reduced health.
