The City of Cleveland’s Department of Aging held its annual Senior Day event at Cleveland Public Auditorium on May 24.
More than 2,000 seniors gathered for the event which featured vendors including Cleveland EMS, Cleveland Water and partner agencies such as the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Seniors in attendance also enjoyed live entertainment and lunch. Mayor Frank G. Jackson welcomed the crowd.

Cleveland City Council members each selected one senior from their ward to be recognized at Senior Day. A total of 17 seniors were honored, one posthumously. Mayor Jackson and Department of Aging Director Mary McNamara presented the award winners with certificates.
