  • Stark County Veterans Stand Down *NEW*

Thursday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
* Walsh University Cecchini Center

Organized by The SAM (Serving Area Military) Center, the Stark County Veterans Stand Down is a resource and assistance fair providing an opportunity for Veterans to connect with services such as medical care, Veterans’ identification cards, employment information, and more.  Additional resources include clothing, food, toiletries, flu shots, and massages. The Stand Down is at Walsh University Cecchini Center at 2020 E. Maple St., North Canton, Ohio.

  • Veterans Month Kick-Off Ceremony *NEW*

*Cleveland VA Medical Center Main Atrium Flag Pole

VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is kicking off our Veteran’s Month with a morning colors ceremony and wreath laying at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. The City and County Police departments are participating in the ceremony. The kick-off is an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the service and sacrifice of all Veterans across Northeast Ohio and the United States. Following the ceremony, there will be light refreshments.

  • Pro Football Hall of Fame Veterans Day Program *NEW*

Saturday, Nov. 3, 10 a.m.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio is hosting a Veterans Day event. The program begins at 10 a.m., with coffee and exhibitors and then an official program at 11 a.m. featuring special guest of honor U.S. Army Veteran and Pittsburgh Steelers legend Rocky Bleier.  The Hall of Fame will have free admission for Veterans and one guest (all day and the entire month of November). There is also free admission for Blue Star Mothers and Gold Star Families will be free all day on November 3. A free commemorative pin will be available for all Veterans in attendance for the Honoring the Nations Heroes program (while supplies last). VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System will also have outreach and suicide prevention presence from Canton VA Outpatient Clinic.
