Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Chief of Sustainability Matt Gray invite the public to the 2019 Year of People Kickoff at City Hall on Jan. 25. Sustainable Cleveland – Mayor Jackson’s strategic vision to create a ‘Green City on a Blue Lake’ – celebrates its 10-year culmination in 2019. The event will be an opportunity for residents to connect directly with government, non-profit and other agencies in the City of Cleveland whose goal is to serve people and build more sustainable communities.
The kickoff event takes place Friday, Jan. 25 in the Cleveland City Hall Rotunda from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. City Hall is located at 601 Lakeside Ave. The event is free, and no registration is necessary. Photo ID is required to enter City Hall.
The Friday celebration will kick-off a year-long series of events celebrating Cleveland’s diverse people, offering them a variety of opportunities to make their homes, workplaces and neighborhoods more sustainable. The event will also offer attendees the opportunity to learn how to get involved with upcoming events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Cuyahoga River catching fire and celebrating all of the environmental strides made since then.
