Mayor Frank G. Jackson’s Office of Sustainability kicked off its 2019 Year of People with a celebration in the City Hall Rotunda on Jan. 25. This year’s theme – the Year of People – celebrates the sustainability efforts of Clevelanders and aims to connect residents to projects that will help them build more sustainable homes, workplaces and neighborhoods.
The Sustainable Cleveland 2019 Year of People kickoff connected hundreds of residents to organizations providing information on air and water quality.
This year, 2019, marks the culmination of Mayor Frank G. Jackson’s 10-year initiative to make Cleveland into a more ‘Green City on a Blue Lake.’ In addition to highlighting everyday sustainability efforts, upcoming events will celebrate Cuyahoga 50, an initiative underscoring the progress made since the 1969 Cuyahoga River Fire.
