Mayor Jackson Administers the Oath of Office to Seven Firefighters

Mayor Frank G. Jackson administered the oath of office to seven firefighters, three to captain and four to lieutenant, for the Cleveland Division of Fire on Monday, June 3. Director of Public Safety Michael McGrath, Chief of Fire Angelo Calvillo, Council President Kevin J. Kelley (Ward 13), Safety Council Chairman Matt Zone (Ward 15), Councilman Martin Keane (Ward 17) and other public safety officials were in attendance.

“Congratulations to the firefighters being promoted today,” said Mayor Jackson. “In their new leadership role they must continue to demonstrate leadership, accountability and quality service to the residents of Cleveland.”

In addition to the promotions, the Division of Fire has 22 Cadets at the Cleveland Fire Training Academy scheduled to graduate in September to maintain staff levels and account for the retirement of veteran staff.
