City of Cleveland Closes Hispanic Heritage Month with Annual Gala

The City of Cleveland’s Department of Community Relations held its annual Hispanic Heritage Month closing ceremony on Friday, Oct. 11 in the City Hall Rotunda. Members of the Hispanic Heritage Month Committee, local leaders and others were in attendance. This event marked the conclusion of an exciting month of festivities which also included an Employee Recognition Ceremony and Hispanic Senior Day celebration. 

The closing ceremony featured traditional Hispanic food and music and an award ceremony. The following individuals were recognized for their strong leadership and honorable impact on the Hispanic community: Rosa Cruz, a Teacher at Lincoln West; Ricardo Leon, Executive Director of Metro West and Sergeant Emmanuel Velez, Cleveland Police Sergeant and Hispanic Police Officer Association (HPOA) Vice President.
