PHOTOS: Black History Month Opening Ceremony

The City of Cleveland continued its Black History Month commemorations with an Opening Ceremony in the City Hall Rotunda on Monday, Feb. 3. The ceremony honored Ghanaian Kings and Chiefs such as Nana Dr. Okatakyi Amanfi Vll, Paramount Chief Asebu Traditional Area and Nana Obokese Ampah l, Chief Apagyahen of Asebu Traditional Area.

The month-long celebration, themed, “Empowering A People: African Americans and the Right to Vote,” will feature a series of events that recognize the contributions of African American people on the CIty of Cleveland’s past and present.
