Starting November 24, 2021, weather permitting, the City will begin concrete repairs on the island where Hamilton Avenue intersects Marquette Street and East 54th Street. A portion of the street will be closed and one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. A complete closure is not expected to occur. No on-street parking will be permitted for the duration of the project in the affected areas and no parking signs will be posted.
The project includes replacing the concrete island and curb along with pavement repairs. The work will take place during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The concrete repair project is expected to complete by the end of December 2021, asphalt repairs around the island are expected to be complete in the Spring of 2022.
